When the owners of the Turbo Jam exercise video empire read about the Biggest Loser House Party in the L.A. Times, they realized that the model of the event was a perfect fit for their own franchise. In fact, they would take it a step further: their House Party would actually be two parties. HPi found 1,000 powerful hosts from the ranks of dedicated fans of the Turbo Jam product line. Those hosts then invited their friends to be part of an unique program: each guest bought a special Turbo Jam House Party package, and then met for the first party, a weigh-in where they watched a specially produced episode with star Chalene Johnson getting the House Partiers energized and focused for what lay ahead. Everyone had fun eating healthy food and getting ready to exercise, get fit, and lose weight.

After the first party, the guests returned home, and for ten days used the Turbo Jam product, getting support from each other and Chalene Johnson on houseparty.com. Then they reunited for a follow-up party where they celebrated their success. Bottom line: thousands of energized new customers, spreading the word about Turbo Jam. And what's more, so much product was sold that the event not only paid for itself—it made money!
